This Special Place

Diabaig is a hidden gem in the truest sense of the word. Narrowly avoiding major tourists routes it has become an out of the way retreat for locals and adventurers, The walks, wildlife and lochans, the forest and mountains and of course the sea entice nature lovers to come and step carefully on this land, There is a sense of freedom, wild beauty and the occasional spot of wild weather too! The skies and sunsets fill the bay, the sounds of nature fill your ears and eyes, waves, a hundred birds, and the crunch of shale and shingle underfoot....  A resting spot, time to gather your thoughts and plan your onward journey. 

The road to Diabaig is not for the faint hearted and is not suitable for large motorhomes or caravans. It's a one way dead end with single track and steep drops - and narrow passing places. Of course, in suitable transport it's a drive filled with breathtaking moments, pop up views and the reward of the bay as you come into Diabaig.

(And the restaurant is pretty good as well!)
