yacht! Posted June 25, 2014

Our very first yaching visitors enjoyed some super seafood last night in the restaurant. A lovely warm sunny evening, lobster taglietelle, langoustines and pollock in a caper, parsley & lemon butter. Lovely to see the beautiful ‘Cigano’ meandering out back to sea this morning. And lovely to see all the guys again (they had been to us on Canna). Haste ye back and happy sailing!

Thanks for the tasty soup and home made bread today. That was just perfect after walking Beinn Eighe. Finding your restaurant at the end of the road today was a lovely surprise. Thanks for the lesson on otter behaviour. I had no idea they could do backstroke

We called in for lunch on the 27th June too, Amanda and Aart were superb hosts, what a fantastic place to come to. The seafood platter with squat lobbies was simply the culinary highlight of our honeymoon week in the area. So fresh and beautifully done. Wish we’d found you earlier. We’ve been recommending Gille Brighde to family and friends since we visited – we’ll be back.

On the backstroke practicing otters; we went over to Shieldaig the same evening and as it darkened and we walked past the old church, we watched two young otters diving for supper together with mum (we decided) doing her nut in calling them back home. So there you are, only freestyle otters but fantastic to see three together.

Aww – lovely, and you will have to celebrate the anniversaries here too! Now onto otters- seriously I reckon they backstroked over to Shieldaig! Brilliant wee animals though and another highlight I am sure x

I have so enjoyed reading your posts. We ate with you on Canna when visiting on our boat, Iolair, a couple of years ago. The meal was fantastic and we had a lovely evening. I still tell people about the ‘rough puff bunny’ on your menu! We always said we would come back. Delighted that we now have the opportunity to taste your fantastic food again. We are heading up on Saturday for two weeks of pottering around on the water, so we will definitely be heading your way.
    Thank you.

Ahh yes – poor rough puff bunny. We shall have to see if we can think of a name for our Diabaig Dishes now… look forward to seeing you soon!
