Time flies…. Posted June 3, 2015

Time really does fly! we are up and running again now, and have been really since March. Easter was incredibly busy and lots of return visitors too. It’s been pretty wonderful reading all the great trip advisor reviews and feedback on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as our, now nearly full, guest book! Seems you people do indeed love the wee place. As we do, more and more it feels. We have a real sense of growing into the business here, and the learning curve continues every day. I have managed to employ a couple of staff now – 2 local folk and my nephew so we are starting to build a wee team up. So far they are doing really well, and are friendly lovely young uns. They do ask a lot of questions though….. ha.

The spring has been wet and cold, and seemingly endless as well. We did have a few beautiful sunny days but we are hoping for a wee stretch of warm sun now. Aart is ever the optimist and for the last few weeks has been promising a better June… we will see huh? Actually the sky is a pretty blue today (and the last shower was a good hour ago) so maybe he is right! No matter the weather Diabaig is stunning, maybe even more so in the dreicher moments and having the woodburner blazing and hot chocolate flowing seems to lift the spirits.

The summer will soon be in full swing and we are looking forward to hosting a couple of special events… weather permitting one of them will be a BBQ outdoor event with the amazing young musicians on the Feis Rois Trail. Keep your eyes out for dates of their performances, they are playing live all over the place! But we think our afternoon with burgers and beer, and sun in the garden will make for a great wee do! Ill be posting all the details soon. And ordering the sun.

we have been staying at the torridon boathouse and exhausted one side of the area so today we decided on a trip to diabaig and explore my son reasured me we would be eating somewhere nice after looking online and I was not disapointed ! The drive and scenery was amazing and breath taking and the resturant was perfect, we were made to feel very welcome and I could not fault the food and ambience was right, even the music playing in the background set the right mood in the sweet little room, weav found somewhere we love and will definatly be back …..now we know the way
