The area is remote and rural, but quite accessible by either land or by water…
The road to Lower Diabaig is one of the most spectacular routes through Scotland. It offers some incredible views towards Skye and Torridon passing crofting townships and picturesque highland villages along the way.
Heading west from Inverness on the A832, take the junction after Garve onto the A832 and proceed to Achnasheen. At Achnasheen turn right at the roundabout staying on the A832 and head for Kinlochewe. At Kinlochewe take the junction to the left signposted Torridon and follow for approximately 10 miles. At Torridon turn right onto one of the most spectacular hill roads you will cross for 10 miles into Diabaig. Continue down the hill into the village and head towards the pier, here you will find The Gille Brighde Restaurant.
Inverness is the commercial and business centre for the Highlands of Scotland and Inverness Airport is located to the east of the city, around 75 miles from Diabaig – an approximate 2 hour drive. The airport provides a variety of domestic and European flights.
We have a lovely sheltered bay which is perfect for yachts and boats, with the added facility of the pier which leads to the door of the Gille Brighde!
The nearest train station is Achnasheen on the Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh line.
